Fabregas: I am joining Barcelona

Football News: Cesc Fabregas

Arsenal dynamo Cesc Fabregas has told friends that he will definitely be joining Barcelona this summer.

In recent weeks the talented Spain international has been at the epicentre of rumour and counter-rumour surrounding a potential move to the Catalan giants.

However, the Daily Mirror has now reported that the Emirates favourite has privately confirmed his Nou Camp switch - thanks to a recent outburst from Gunners chairman Peter Hill-Wood.

In an interview last month, Hill-Wood declared: "If you want my opinion, I am not sure he (Fabregas) would even get in their team. Do they need him? I'm not sure that they do."

The remarks are believed to have left Fabregas feeling angry and even more determined to find a way out of north London.

Despite being repeatedly told that Fabregas, who still has five years to run on his current Arsenal deal, is not for sale, Barcelona presidential candidate Marc Ingla remains adamant that the 23-year-old will join the reigning La Liga champions.

"Cesc will be a Barcelona player, yes, yes," he said, despite Barcelona having yet to table an official bid for Fabregas.

"The money is not as important as his dream because he wants to return to Barcelona and it's a dream for our fans.

"Arsenal are a model club and to maintain good relations we will try to agree a good price. Of course Barcelona wants to complete a quick deal."
